S.P. Duke Garden: Waterlily Pond Reflections
A first impressionistic study of fleeting moments captured in color with my camera and returning to the same spots many times. The lilies are glorious, but my real fascination was capturing the many different color reflections and patterns that create an impressionistic effect in the water, my "Monet" effect. The play of light and shade and reflections from the surrounding trees, heaven, shrubs, grasses etc; all taken into account plus the light drizzle, the setting sun or the cool mists rising........ But instead of painting I use different settings, a variety of f-stops in relation to shutter speeds to capture effects with my camera under different light conditions.
After some more time I re examined these very same collection with their shimmery waterreflections and started to rework them digitally in far greater detail and depth . This resulted into an entire new approach to use my photography as a starting point to create digital abstract art. See some examples above. More works are listed unde rmy "Art" folder.
